As far as the Wacom goes, are you working on a Mac or a PC? I use a Mac, and the Wacom I bought is one of the Graphires- 4x5. Im not sure why the pen would not be in synch with what was happening on your monitor- my pen got stuck in "click" mode and was trying to select everything when I moved it. I highly recommend the Graphire tablets, they sell for about $100 at your local CompUSA or BestBuy. There is no looking back once you get one- trying to color art with a mouse is a huge chore compared to using the Wacom.
